18th Rain Festival Indoor Boomerang Tournament

Time to have some fun indoors. We have a high ceiling gym for two hours,
so this is going to be a quick tournament. We will be teaching new
comers how to throw, and then have some indoor competitions like Fast
Catch Pole (8 meter minimum range), and GLORP. This contest is FOAM
boomerangs only!

qualifying score during the regular season. Seeding is based on national rank in

2nd Annual Spring Break Buggy Blast

Spring Break Buggy Blast, now in its ninth year, is the largest gathering of traction kiters in North America. Held every spring on the Ivanpah & Roach dry lakes, this weeklong festival brings together kitefliers and boomerang enthusiasts from all 50 states and many countries around the world. In 2001, event attendance was close to
200, the boomerang activities alone involved nearly 50 people.
Boomerang activities included Accuracy, Team Fast Catch, Juggling, Doubling, Suicide and Night Accuracy. Come spend some time in the desert. Located only 45 minutes south of Las Vegas, attendees are housed in the Primadonna Casino complex where deluxe
rooms are less than $50 per night ($20 weekday nights). See you there!

We'll probably register from 9:00 - 9:30 am, and have the first event 
underway at 10:00. We'll run standard USBA events: Fast Catch, Accuracy,
Endurance, MTA, Trick Catch/Doubling, Aussie Round, and
Kylie-Throw-at-Spike. If time permits, mountain bike boomerang polo will
be contested. If time doesn't permit, we'll just throw kylies at Spike
from mountain bikes!

Location: This year's tournament has been move to Buder Park,
in south St. Louis County, right of I-44 at the Hwy 141 exit in Valley park. Here's a city map to the field and another map to the field. You better not get lost. If anyone needs any info or more details, please contact Bob at chibob@htc.net.

AUGUST 2002

15th Annual Western Oregon Boomerang Roundup
August 24th
The 15th Annual Western Oregon Boomerang Roundup will be held in Salem, 
Oregon on August 24th at the McKay High School Soccer Fields.

Registration begins at 8:30 and events begin at 9:30. There will be a
minimal registration fee to help defray expenses.

This tournament is normally held in July, but with World Cup being held
in late July and me gone on vacation for most of June and early July I
thought it would be better to move the date back and avoid conflict
with folks heading to Germany early.

A good time is guaranteed for all!

Free Thrower's 23rd Annual Tournament
August 31th - September 1st
Delaware, Ohio

The nation's longest running and best attended tournament is moving to August 31 and September 1 
at Smith Park in Delaware, OH. The tourney will be held Saturday and Sunday with new formats, 
special guests and fun for all hallmarking this event! Come throw with USA Team members as well 
as the kids next door as we have something for everyone. But could someone explain to me why it's
called the "Free" Thrower's Tournament when you have to pay to compete?
