USBA UPDATE
July 10, 2000
This is an electronic supplement to Many Happy Returns being sent to all USBA members who have submitted their email addresses. If you would like to be removed from this list, or if you know anybody who would like to be added to this list, please contact Billy Brazelton at update@usba.org.
These news updates will be most useful if they stimulate you to contribute your own thoughts and ideas to the USBA cause. Please send all complaints, suggestions, ideas, and proposals to usba@usba.org. Contact info for individual board members can be found at the end of this message. Please write us! Send all news items for inclusion in USBA Update to update@usba.org. Now for the news:

STICKERS: As announced before, the USBA store now has boomerang bumper stickers for sale. The "Boomerangs are Coming Back!" stickers are $1 each, and the official USBA logo red balloons are $0.50. Place an order of $25 or more and get them for half price. This is a great way to expose the public to boomerangs, as conversation-starters or advertising. Contact Pat Steigman (psteigman@tyler.net ) to place an order.

DESIGN CONTEST: Don't forget the National Boomerang Design Contest at the US Open in Canton on August 11-14. Prizes will be awarded according to the guidelines outlined last month, and all winners will be mentioned in USBA Update!

ELECTIONS: All USBA members should be receiving nomination forms for the USBA Board of Directors Election in the mail soon. If you don't have yours yet, make sure your membership dues are up to date and Steve Cook has your correct address. Once you get it, please consider running for office. If you have ideas about what the USBA should be doing to promote the sport, this is your chance to make a difference.

MHR: The next issue of MHR is nearly finished, so submit those materials, letters, and articles NOW! Also, please tell the Board and Editor Ted Bailey (tbailey@ic.net) what you think of the new style of MHR. This is YOUR newsletter, and it's up to you to make it the way you want it.

INJURIES: There was an unfortunate incident at the Atlanta tournament this year when a spectator was seriously injured by a fast catch boomerang while spotting. While the thrower is technically responsible for the position of all spotters, tournament directors are encouraged to teach spectators how to safely spot all events. It may also be a good idea to discourage inexperienced spectators from spotting fast catch or endurance at all. Thanks to Hurlin' Will Herlan for this news item.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Please send Billy (update@usba.org),Tony (MHREditor@usba.org), and Ted (tbailey@ic.net) tournament scores and summaries! Nobody will ever know you had a tournament unless you tell us about it! Here are the results I have so far:
