USBA UPDATE
November 1, 2000
TO: All USBA Members
FROM: USBA Board
This is an electronic supplement
to Many Happy Returns being sent to
all USBA members who have submitted their email addresses. If
you would
like to be removed from this list, or if you know anybody who
would like to be added to this list, please contact Billy Brazelton
at update@usba.org.
These news updates will be most
useful if they stimulate you to
contribute your own thoughts and ideas to the USBA cause. Please
send all
complaints, suggestions, ideas, and proposals to usba@usba.org.
Contact

this message.
Please write us! Send all news items for inclusion in USBA Update
to

RATINGS!!!!:
The 1999 Ratings are finally finished! All USBA members
should thank Jason Smucker (gt5353b@prism.gatech.edu) for all
the time and
energy he has volunteered to get this done. We'll let you check
out the
results for yourself at http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gt5353b/USBA/
But
let's just say that it's no surprise who's on top. There is a
surprise in
the 2000 ratings, though, which are in progress. Right now Steve
Cook is in
the lead, but that's because he's the only one who went to three
of the
tournaments which have sent in scores. So ATTENTION TDs from
St. Louis, Canton, Seattle, and Hartford - Unless you want Steve
Cook to be National Ratings Champ, send in your scores!
BOARD BUSINESS: October was a relatively quiet month for the
Board. Our continuing relationship with Foster's Beer and the
future of USBA
sponsorship in general was discussed. The Board has also begun
the process
of filling the two vacant members-at-large spots.
FBC:
The Future of Boomerangs Committee has been working furiously
for the past several weeks (often exceeding 20 emails per day)
arguing, debating,
and discussing various ways to revolutionize the sport. Many
major changes
will likely be proposed to the Board, and comments are welcome
as always.
STICKERS: As
announced before, the USBA store now has boomerang bumper stickers
for sale. The "Boomerangs are Coming Back!" stickers
are $1 each, and the official USBA logo red balloons are $0.50.
Place an order of $25 or more and get them for half price. This
is a great way to expose the public to boomerangs, as conversation-starters
or advertising. Contact Billy
Brazelton (update@usba.org) to place an order.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Please submit all tournament results to Tony
(MHREditor@usba.org) and Ted (tbailey@ic.net) for inclusion in
the website
and MHR.
