- The novices got split into two groups - real novices and
"master novices" - those who have been throwing a while
but are not members of USBA. Once again, we had more 1st place
winners than most tournaments (7), and everyone else went away
happy too.
Highlights:
On Team Novice day we had 4 teams of 4 or 5 people competing
in Hacurracy, Super Catch, and Whoa Nelly. Team Almost There
narrowly lost to a team with an unprintable name. Teams All About
Glitter and Your Name Here had a close battle for 3rd and 4th
place.
Peter Caliandro showed up at the end of the USBA individuals
tournament just for Aussie Round and took 2nd with little warm-up.
Stevie Kavanaugh did a foot catch with a Jonas during MTA and
took first in the event.
We had 4 new throwers at their first tournament - Matt Gibson,
Clay Dawson, Richard Bower, Daniel Bower. 3 of those 4 made it
to Salem 2 weeks later for Dean Kelly's tournament.
We gave away 50 prize boomerangs from 15 boomerang makers - Clay
Dawson, Richard Bower, Daniel Bower, Lynol Amero, Andy Cross,
John Cross, Dan Neelands, T.W. Smith, Don Monroe, Will Herlan,
Angus Proud, Mitch Watt, Peter Caliandro, Chris Cotter, Kendall
Davis. (I might be forgetting someone - just too many booms!)
