Catch the boom craze that's sweeping the nation:

small, informal, fun, local boomerang competitions!

They're happening in Minnesota, St. Louis, Indianapolis and now
they've spread all the way to Seattle. Every Sunday at 1:30pm, we will
meet at the University of Washington intramural fields. If enough of
us show up, we'll have a tournament. If we don't have enough people,
or if we just don't feel like it, we won't do any competition and just
play some games and goof off. Either way, we have fun.

We had another rad day of booming here in Seattle. Wind was up and down between
3-7mph, possibly gusting to 10, all day with a very, very muddy field. Two of us
had to dispense with our mud-caked shirts just to allow some range of arm movement.

We ran three events: Trick Catch, Speed, and Accuracy. For Trick Catch and Accuracy
we ran one Indie-style format to generate seeds for a H2H bracket, and we then ran
a single-elimination H2H tournament for those two events. We didn't have enough
spotters to do H2H Speed, so we just ran it Indie-style. Results (which will be
posted on BoomerangUSA soon):

We finished the day with an epic game of Super Mario Bros in the mud. There were
many wild diving, sliding catches for the sole purpose of not losing points on a
drop. Super Mario Bros: the game where zero is an accomplishment!

By the way, we did all this in about 2.5 hours this afternoon. When is your
neighborhood boomerang get-together?
