30m Relay

One of the most highly-anticipated team events, this high-speed relay uses boomerangs that are generally not used in individual competitions. Four throwers from each team compete in this event. Starting at the outside of a 30m circle within their own gates, two teams will compete simultaneously. On the judges signal, the first runner for each team sprints to the inside of the 2m circle, and makes a throw with a boomerang.

The boomerang must go 30m. The thrower has two attempts to catch their boomerang for legal throws. A legal throw travels at least 30m and is thrown from the inside of the 4m circle. If it does not make 30m, the thrower must go until it makes range. Once they make their legal catch, they run back to the 30m line and tag off with the next thrower.

The thrower waiting to be tagged may not have any body part within the 30m circle, and may not move until they have been tagged by the current thrower. Each thrower goes twice, for a total of eight catches per team. The timers should stop the moment the last thrower steps over the 30m line after making their catch.

There should be a circle judge for each team, ensuring there are no foot faults, and three timers for each team. The median/middle time recorded by the three timers will count as the official time for that team. The winner of the event has the shortest time.
