It is with a very, VERY heavy heart that I tell the boomerang community about the passing of our dear friend, boomerang brother, and legendary Team Gel member, Tim Maultsby. Tim was one of the most genuine, generous, and happy-go-lucky people I have ever met. He came to nationals after a 2 day road trip and casino tour with his wife Linda. He showed up to the field Saturday morning and said he didn’t feel well and thought maybe he had food poisoning. Later after feeling worse went to the emergency room, where they found out his aorta tore and ruptured. Unfortunately even a heart of solid gold cannot beat forever. Tim will always be remembered for his “boomerang library”. He liked to show up to tournaments and spread out a whole wide variety of boomerangs that you could “check out”, you just had to write an IOU for 43 gel dollars, description of the boomerang, and sign it. He joked that all gel dollars, upon his passing, turned into real dollars to be paid to Linda….
Linda says all gel dollars are forgiven.
Tim will always be loved, remembered, and missed. The boomerang field will never be the same.
